The winning ways have continued for the Warrenton volleyball team with the district tournament on the horizon.
The Warriors (18-5) extended their winning streak to 16 with three wins, including a four-set triumph (25-15, 25-15, 25-27, 25-16) at Union on Monday. Last week, they defeated Mexico in three sets (25-11, 25-18, 25-20) on Oct. 12 and beat Orchard Farm in three sets (25-8, 25-9, 25-18) on Oct. 15.
Against Union, Allie Gerrard and Abby Hammerberg each recorded 16 assists. Olivia Morgan and Morgan Frye had nine and eight kills, respectively. Ella Smith added six kills in the win.
In the Orchard Farm game, Frye and Josey Schipper each had seven kills. Hammerberg had a team-high 17 assists, followed by Gerrard with 13.
Gerrard and Hammerberg had 18 and 15 assists, respectively, in the Mexico win. Frye led the way with 13 kills.
Warrenton ends the regular season Thursday versus Sullivan at home. The Warriors received the top seed in the Class 4, District 7 Tournament and will host No. 4 Pacific on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m. The winner will face either No. 2 Hannibal or No. 3 Union in the title game scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29.
