The Warrenton football team defeated St. Charles 40-20 tonight.
Starting off the game, Isias Hernandez quickly got the Warriors on the board and Jake Kinney added the extra point.
The Warrenton defense turned the Pirates down on their first two drives and they blocked a punt to put the Warriors on the 50-yard line.
In the next drive, Brody Reel scored to put Warrenton up 14-0.
Defensively, Jamarion Fulton recorded a sack and Hayden Johnson had an interception. The first quarter ended 14-0.
In the second, St. Charles got on the board after a 65-yard touchdown. However, their two-point conversion was incomplete.
Warrenton responded with a 43-yard touchdown thrown by Mason Sanders to Kaleb Lauck.
The Pirates later scored on a 66-yard touchdown pass and the teams went into halftime with the score at 20-12.
Entering the second half, Hernandez rushed for two more touchdowns, one for 19 yards and the other for three.
Fulton recorded his second sack of the night and Jay Sanders also had a sack.
The Pirates scored its last touchdown in the fourth quarter from a 55-yard pass, but Warrenton got the last word after Fulton ran for a 57-yard touchdown.
Warrenton improves to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in GAC North conference play. They will travel to Orchard Farm (7-0) next Friday at 7 p.m.
