Due to lack of a quorum, the Warrenton Board of Aldermen meeting Dec. 2 was opened and closed without any action taken. Only three of the required four aldermen were present during the meeting.
Those present included aldermen Larry Corder, Roger Romaker and Brandon Lang. Mayor Eric Schleuter was also present and told those in attendance that there was an illness going around and the other three members – aldermen Jack Crump, Christine Wait and Scott Schulze – would not be attending the meeting.
According to City Clerk Melody Rugh after the meeting, she said this was the first time in her 16 years that a meeting did not proceed due to lack of a quorum.
There were no resolutions or ordinances up for vote on the agenda. There were listed updates from City Manager Brandie Walters, Grounds and Maintenance Director Justin Knoll and Public Works Director Guy Gevers listed on the agenda for the Dec. 2 meeting.
