The Warrenton Warriors scored three touchdowns in the second quarter to seize control of their GAC North clash against Winfield.
Warrenton (7-0, 3-0 GAC North) beat Winfield (1-6, 0-4 GAC North) 42-6 Friday night to remain unbeaten.
Warrenton led 7-0 after the opening quarter. Charlie Blondin threw a touchdown pass to Mason Thompson to give Warrenton the early 7-0 lead.
Warrenton turned three second quarter turnovers into three touchdowns to take a 28-0 lead into halftime. Blondin scored on a 4-yard touchdown run to put Warrenton up by two touchdowns. Running back Austin Haas ran for a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter. Haas scored on a 2-yard touchdown run to put Warrenton up 21-0. The Warriors gained possession at the Winfield 10-yard line after Joe Goldsmith's interception return. Haas also scored on another 2-yard touchdown run on the final play of the half to give Warrenton a 28-0 lead. The touchdown came after Brandon Johnson's interception.
Goldsmith and Haas each scored in the second half. Goldsmith scored on a 2-yard touchdown run to put Warrenton up 35-0 just over two minutes into the second half and trigger the running clock. Haas added a 7-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
Warrenton is set to square off against Orchard Farm next week.
