Warrenton aldermen approved a new agreement with the Warren County R-III School District to provide two additional school resource officers during the Sept. 19 meeting.
The agreement passed the board by a vote of 6-0.
The agreement states that the school district will pay two-thirds of the cost of the officers.
The city said it will begin the process of hiring the new officers immediately.
When hired, the officers will serve Daniel Boone and Warrior Ridge elementary schools in Warrenton.
The R-III school board must also still approve the agreement.
