State Reps. Bryan Spencer, Bart Korman and Justin Hill announced the winners of the Glory of Missouri Awards for 2018.The Glory of Missouri Awards were created to recognize students who display virtuous qualities both as students and as citizens. Each student honored represents one of the virtues of good government engraved on the walls of the House Chamber.The virtues include knowledge, liberty, equality, law, justice, fraternity, education, progress, honor, truth, virtue, temperance, enterprise and charity.“Our area is blessed to have outstanding young people who are exceptional students, as well individuals of the highest character. These are young people who are on track to accomplish great things in life, and I am excited that we’re able to recognize them for their achievements,” said Spencer, R-Wentzville.Nominations for each of these categories were made by teachers, community leaders and parents. These students in Warren County schools were recognized:• For knowledge, Austin Kuehn, Liberty Christian Academy, and Lily Sargent, Wright City High School.• For liberty, Chloe Armentrout, Wright City High School.• For equality, Emily Gilley, Wright City High School.• For law, Lucas Pierson, Liberty Christian Academy.• For justice, Peyton Hart, Wright City High School, and Kassidy Butterfield, Liberty Christian Academy.• For fraternity, Ryan Tayloe, Warrenton High School.• For progress, McKinzie Lee, Wright City High School.• For honor, Lilliana Rosales, Wright City High School.• For truth, Madison Janes, Liberty Christian Academy.• For virtue, Hailey Blanton, Blackhawk Middle School.• For temperance, Xandyr Nash, Warrenton High School, and Kastie Mazella, Wright CIty High School.• For enterprise, Lauren Moss, Liberty Christian Academy.• For charity, Katelyn Chemin, Liberty Christian Academy.“It has been an honor to take part in recognizing our outstanding young people with the Glory of Missouri Awards. During my time in office we have highlighted some of our best and brightest, and this year’s recipients certainly live up to the high standards set by their predecessors. I am eager to see what these amazing young men and women will accomplish in the future,” added Korman, R-High Hill.“The Glory of Missouri Awards exist to shine a spotlight on our very best students and citizens, and this year’s winners are without question some of the most accomplished young people we have recognized,” concluded Hill, R-Lake St. Louis.Spencer and Hill are now accepting nominations for the 2019 Glory of Missouri Awards. Individuals interested in nominating an outstanding student must provide a name, address, category, and 50 words or less regarding how the student represents their characteristic category.
