The Warren County Record won first- and third-place awards at the Missouri Advertising Managers’ Association (MAMA) 2017 Best Ad Contest, sponsored by the Missouri Press Association. The Record earned a first-place award among weekly papers in the Best Digital Ad Campaign category, which judges digital campaigns across an outlet’s website, mobile alerts, video and social media. The newspaper took third place in the weekly category of Best Ad Content Entire Publication, which rates publications by judging the quality of their advertising content across multiple issues. The awards were presented Thursday, April 6, at the annual MAMA meeting in Columbia.“I am very pleased to have won these awards. The first place for a digital campaign was very rewarding,” Advertising Manager Jana Todd said. “The advertising industry is changing rapidly with so many new options to choose from. ... I am fortunate to work at a paper that sees the need for every evolving option for its advertisers.”Todd explained that digital ad campaigns are a relatively new avenue of generating revenue for advertisers. She said another advanced digital advertising option at The Record is programmatic advertising, which uses targeted software to connect advertisers with specific demographics, physical locations or even buyers looking for a particular product.Todd thanked staff members at The Record and the Washington Missourian for their contributions to earn the statewide recognition.“It takes a team effort by designers and others to put out a quality product each week,” Todd said.Todd served as president of MAMA from 2013 to 2014.Jana Todd
