The Warren County Record started the new year with new staff who have a fresh way of covering stories while still honoring the long tradition of community reporting.Kate Miller, the paper’s new managing editor, has more than 20 years of writing, communications and reporting experience. She started her career as a freelance writer and then was an editor/reporter for the Suburban Journals in St. Louis.Miller spent many years in corporate communications before joining the Warren County Record.“Community reporting is a special kind of reporting. It’s about building relationships and writing about the people and places that have unexpected things to say and covering local issues that aren’t covered elsewhere,” she said.“It’s our mission to keep readers informed and entertained with every issue,” she added. “We’ll keep you updated with news that’s close to home and offer a variety of stories about the people and places that shape Warren County’s character.”Miller spent most of her life living in St. Louis County. Growing up, she lived in other Missouri towns including Eureka, Gerald, Lake of the Ozarks and Washington. She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and earned a degree in journalism from Webster University.Miller can be reached by email at recordnews@warrencountyrecord.com.Adam Rollins has joined The Record as a reporter. He is enthusiastic about politics and loves to peek behind the scenes of local government. He’ll be covering area boards of aldermen, economic development and the latest happenings around town.“I’m happy to be home and excited to learn more about local communities. I hope everyone here is as excited to meet me as I am to meet them,” Rollins said. “One of the best parts about community reporting is hearing from readers. They’re one of our best sources for news tips and we love hearing about what’s important to them.”Rollins is a St. Charles native with roots in small town community news. He previously worked as an editor and part-time reporter for the Daily Sun newspaper in Beatrice, Neb., a town of about 12,000 residents.Rollins returned to Missouri in August.
