Administrators in the Warren County R-III School District are excited to see progress moving along smoothly with the $10 million bond project. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Aaron Jones says projects at each building are set to be completed in time for the beginning of the school year on Aug. 17. The only project currently delayed is at Black Hawk Middle School, but accommodations have been made to work around that for student drop-off during the first few weeks of school. However, everything within the building will be completed on time.At the high school, work has been completed on the concrete delivery pad on the southwest corner of the building. In addition, final tests are being run on the new HVAC systems installed in the high school. The new HVAC system at Rebecca Boone is also nearing completion, and crews poured concrete sidewalks along the front of the building earlier this week.Work is nearing completion on the new security vestibules at Daniel Boone and Warrior Ridge Elementary. Crews have also finished the new drop-off drive at Daniel Boone Elementary. All concrete has now been poured at the R-III Transportation Department lot as well and will be ready for use by busses when the school year begins. While it is not scheduled for completion until late October or early November, the new multipurpose gym at the high school is slightly ahead of schedule.
