By Janine DavisRecord Staff WriterStudents, faculty and administrators at Warren County R-III are teeing up for another session of the district’s summer school.Classes will run from June 4-27.School administrators outlined the plans during the board of education meeting earlier this month.The 18-day session will be offered for incoming grades K-5, middle school and high school, with Monday through Friday classes starting at 7:45 a.m. and ending at 2:45 p.m.Elementary summer school will be held at Warrior Ridge Elementary, while middle and high school classes will be at Black Hawk Middle School.Assistant Superintendent Gregg Klinginsmith said bus transportation will be provided, but with fewer stops than during the regular school year.“We’ve been sending out fliers and forms, and have had a great response to the program,” Klinginsmith told the board.With the 2013-2014 school year ending May 30, students will have only a four-day break before starting classes again.Elementary school instruction will include reading, writing and math, along with exploratory classes around science experiments and other project-based learning.Middle school offerings will be in English language arts, math, exploratory experiments, PE and technology.High school courses will be offered in physical education (9-12) and in other subjects for credit recovery (10-12).Again this year the district will offer free breakfasts and lunches.Warren County R-III announces summer school schedule
