Warren County Coroner Glenn Craig announced Friday, March 22, that he will resign his office at the end of April. In an open letter shared through Facebook, Craig said he submitted his letter of resignation to Warren County administrators March 20, to be effective May 1."Due to personal issues I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life," Craig wrote, expressing deep regret for needing to leave his elected office before the end of his term. Craig did not elaborate on his reasons for leaving office, but said he had been struggling with the decision for several months, consulting with family and mentors.Craig also thanked and praised the first responders of Warren County that he has worked with. Although he admitted to sometimes being critical of decisions related to first responders, Craig said "every single person working as a first responder in this county is completely and whole-heartedly dedicated to this community." He called for people in the community to show their first responders the same level of support in return."I am honored that you chose me, which makes it very difficult to step down," Craig wrote for supporters. "Thank you all for blessing me with the chance to serve you."
