Recent bouts of warm weather have reignited area outdoor activities, many of which involve family pets.Animal welfare group Concerned Citizens for Animal Care (CCAC) encourages Warren County residents to incorporate an element of giving into their daily routines and spread the word among friends and family with the Walk for a Dog app.The new app from WoofTrax.com makes it possible to support CCAC and its efforts to bring an animal shelter to Warren County simply by walking your dog.“And, while we certainly encourage regular exercise for all dogs, you don’t necessarily need to have a furry friend with you,” said Pat Schulze, board president. “The Walk for a Dog app works just fine when you go on your lunchtime power walk or early morning jog.”The best part of the app is that, by doing something that takes no money and very little time, animal lovers, fitness champions and those trying to stick with their 2017 exercise resolutions can contribute to something the community desperately needs – an organization to help the stray animals of Warren County, with the mission of implementing spay and neuter programs, educating the community and offering pet training.CCAC hopes to raise $100,000 by the end of 2018. The funds will be used to build a new shelter or to buy or rent existing vacant property.Go to WoofTrax.com, download the app and find and support CCAC in their 2018 Shelter Challenge every time you walk your dog!For more information, visit the group’s website www.ccacwc.com. The site also contains a wish list for donated goods and services and links for additional ways to support fundraising for a Warren County shelter. To reach the group email info@ccacwc.com or by phone call 636-456-SPAY (7729).Walk your dog
