Mr. Virgil Ellis Smith of Jonesburg, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022. He was born December 5, 1948, in Newburg, MO, to William Charles and Anna Mae (Nee: Wagnor) Smith. He had reached the age of 73 years.
Virgil married the love of his life, Margie Ruth Twellmann, October 7, 1997 in Warrenton, MO. He could play any instrument by ear but his favorite was guitar. He was an outdoorsman that loved to coon hunt and fish. He also enjoyed tending to his garden. Virgil was an inventor that could build anything out of nothing at all. He built a racecar, a sawmill and a hydrogen generator just to name a few. What he loved more than anything was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna; 5 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Margie; children, Jackie Smith (William Carroll), Dewayne Smith, Harold Schultz III; grandchildren, Layten (Kayla), Devrin, Kyle, Kayla, Mason, MaKenzie, Cameron, Carson, Jasmyn; great grandchildren, Chevelle, Blaise, Octavia, Brayden, Maverick; siblings, Joe Smith, Don Smith (Linda), Dearl Smith (Carol); many other relatives and friends.
We will Celebrate the Life of Virgil Ellis Smith, Saturday, January 29, 2022, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM also at the funeral home. Memorial donations are preferred to the family of Virgil Smith.
