Vintage Road Trip event is next week

Posted

The Vintage Road Trip is scheduled for Nov. 3-4.

This two-day event unites several resale, antique and vintage shops in an event that tries to entice shoppers. Prices along the vintage road trip range from serious thrift bargains to high-end antiques.

Agape is one of the organizers and a participant.

“There is so much interest in vintage items from people, we thought it would be a great idea to start something here locally that brought customers in to the local stores selling vintage items,” said Michelle Bernth, executive director. “We felt that by collaborating and making it a fun event, we would all have more reach and impact than we could do individually.”

Individual shops will be having sales, special events, refreshments, raffles or demonstrations.

“Whether you are a lover of antiques or vintage items, a bargain hunter, a crafter or just someone who likes to explore and find new fun places, there is something for everyone on the Vintage Road Trip,” Bernth said.

All of the businesses will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

“In general, shoppers will find unique goods created by local artists and crafters, upcycled goods from vintage items, thrift or resale items at great prices, farmhouse-style items and vintage holiday items,” said Bernth.

“When the Road Trippers need a break, we have good food and drinks at participating restaurants,” she said.

Some businesses have supplies and raw materials for crafters to use to create their own upcycled items.w Demonstrations will show people how to use the supplies.

Bernth added this event is a great outing for a group of friends or people can plot their own journey through the businesses they want to see.

Shoppers should pick up a passport at their first stop and get it stamped along the journey.

People who fill their passports from all of the participating stores will be entered to win a $500 basket filled with goodies from every participating store.
