Crews working on the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project reopened Veterans Memorial Parkway (the I-70 South Outer Road) in Wright City on Oct. 9, four days ahead of schedule.
The roadway, from just east of Mueller Avenue to S. Stringtown Road, reopened following completion of connections to a new roundabout.
Two‑way traffic has been restored and is traveling on the newly constructed pavement while work continues on the northern half of the new roundabout.
This work is part of the second project in MoDOT’s Statewide Improve I-70 Program. Improve I-70: Warrenton to Wentzville is a $600 million Design-Build project that will improve the 20-mile stretch of I-70 between Warrenton and Wentzville. The project was awarded to the Improve 70 Alliance team in November 2024. Construction is anticipated to be complete by the end of 2028.
