American Legion Daniel Boone Post 180 of Marthasville will honor all veterans, deceased and living, at a Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. The post is located 3 miles north of Marthasville on South Highway 47.
The guest speaker will be the Rev. Michael Royal, the new pastor serving Charrette Baptist Church of Marthasville. Pastor Royal is new to the community and looking forward to meeting new people and becoming involved in community activities.
Due to the pandemic, there will not be a meal served following the ceremony, nor will the usual other activities, including the shooting match, be held. Social distancing is to be observed. The wearing of face masks, while optional, is encouraged.
The public is cordially invited to attend to help honor the service and sacrifice of our military veterans and their families. The avenue of flags will be displayed and military honors will be presented with a gun salute and Taps.
