Veterans banner program returns to Wright City

Posted

Last year, the Wright City Downtown Revitalization Committee presented a meaningful way to honor local veterans through the Veterans Banner Program.  Banners featuring the names, rank and images of area veterans were displayed throughout the downtown district, creating a powerful and visible tribute to those who have served our country.

The response from residents was overwhelmingly positive, with 44 banners sold and proudly displayed. Due to the strong community support and appreciation shown last year, the program is returning for 2026.

Veteran banners will go on sale beginning February 1 at a cost of $100 per banner. The banners will be displayed starting the third week of May and will remain up through the third week of November. Banners will be hung for one season only and will be available for pickup at the end of the event.

Residents can register and pay for their banner through the Wright City Downtown Revitalization Committee’s Facebook page.  Funds raised through this program directly support efforts to revitalize the downtown area, helping to enhance the community while honoring those who have served.

For questions or assistance with the registration process, residents may contact Ramiz Hakim, Bill Pohl at Perfection Realty or Kelly Hill at Shelter Insurance.  The Wright City Downtown Revitalization Committee is proud to once again honor its veterans and looks forward to another successful year of celebrating and remembering the men and women who have served our country.
