A vehicle taken from a Warrenton residence without permission had led to a felony charge against one of the individuals involved in the alleged incident.
Warrenton police responded to a residence in the 300 block of McKinley Avenue April 14 for a report of a stolen vehicle. The male victim told officers he believed a family member had taken his 2003 Jeep Cherokee and said a man, identified Jack A. Wodke, also was involved, according to the probable cause statement.
The following day, the vehicle was recovered in Lafayette, Ind. Wodke and the female were located at a gas station a short distance away and told a police officer they had run out of gas, the probable cause statement said.
Wodke was charged with felony first-degree tampering and one misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child. A $10,000 bond has been set.Vehicle found in Indiana leads to tampering charge
