A west St. Louis County woman was seriously injured when her car rolled over on Interstate 70 last Thursday, March 2.Bonnie C. Lafoe, 63, of Ballwin, was transported by ambulance to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake Saint Louis to be treated.Lafoe was traveling westbound on I-70 between Wright City and Warrenton. Her car drifted from the left lane into the right, the Missouri State Highway Patrol report said.Lafoe overcorrected to the left and her car, a Honda CRV, slid off the road and into the cable barriers in the median. The car landed on its left side near the 196.8 mile marker.EMS and fire crews were at the scene at 7:30 a.m., said Assistant Chief Josh Riebe of the Wright City Fire Protection District.Emergency crews removed the car’s windshield to reach Lafoe and remove her from the car, Riebe said. They closed one lane in each direction near the accident to secure the scene. The closure backed up traffic for a short time. The roadway was clear by 8:05 a.m., Riebe said. He added that the cables in the median likely stopped the car from entering the other side of the highway and causing more harm.
