A Warrenton woman is accused of stabbing her 85-year-old mother to death Monday.Marlene Wynn, 51, was charged Tuesday in Warren County Circuit Court with second-degree murder for the death of Mildred Brune. She is being held in the Warren County Jail on a $500,000 cash-only bond.Warrenton Police Department Lt. Branden Weber said officers were called to a home in the 700 block of Cambridge Drive at 11:10 a.m. Monday, where they found Brune, who was deceased from suspected severe head trauma and a large laceration to her throat.The original call to police had mentioned that a butcher knife had been spotted close to the scene.Wynn was already in the home when police arrived. After the initial investigation, Weber said, police determined Wynn was a suspect in Brune’s death.An arraignment was set for Sept. 19 in Warren County Circuit Court.Weber said the investigation is ongoing and police would not be providing additional information or comments.Social media posts by people living in the neighborhood suggest Brune was killed in her own home.
