The missing Iowa woman, whose abandoned car was found in Warren County two days after her disappearance, was located Wednesday morning, Jan. 18, in Fort Worth, Texas, according to police.
In a press release, authorities said Sharon Hopf, 45, appeared to be disoriented but was unharmed. Hopf's brother, who lives in the Dallas area, was called and then drove to where she was found.
Police said Hopf did not need medical attention and was released to her family. Hopf, of rural Crawfordsville, Iowa, has been missing since Jan. 5. Two days later, Hopf's white 1999 Chevrolet Lumina was discovered at an abandoned property at 28566 Highway F, just outside the city limits of Wright City.
Local authorities said the surrounding area near the vehicle was searched, but Hopf was not located. On Jan. 11, more than 30 people from local law enforcement and first responder agencies conducted a one-mile search in the area where Hopf's car was found, but no clues related to her disappearance were found.
No information was immediately released on how Hopf got to Texas.
