Tuesday night was a good night for the boys' basketball teams in Warren County, as all three – Warrenton, Wright City and Liberty Christian – emerged victorious in their games.

WARRENTON 60, PACIFIC 53 (2 OT) – The Warriors went on the road and beat Pacific for the first time in four tries over the last 23 seasons.

Warrenton ended regulation tied with the host Indians at 47 points apiece, but without the team’s leading scorer, Brodey Meier, who scored 17 points in the game but fouled out late.

In stepped the quartet of junior guard Carter Martin, senior guards Deadrick Forrest and Jay Sanders and senior forward Billy Speiser.

Each player recorded at least three points between the overtimes as Warrenton (8-11) earned the win.

“The guys really stepped up big in overtime,” Warrenton coach Mark Thomas said. “Brodey fouled out with a couple of minutes left in the fourth, and we did (have other step up).”

In the end, Meier’s points were supplemented by 15 from Martin and 14 from Forrest.

Warrenton will next head to Winfield (10-7) at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

On the girls' side, Warrenton lost 51-42 at home to St. Clair.

WRIGHT CITY 50, MARK TWAIN 35 – For the second time in as many nights, the Wright City boys basketball team reeled off an impressive performance.

The Wildcats (5-12) backed up a thrilling win over North Point on Monday by going on the road and having a much easier time against the team’s Eastern Missouri foe.

Sophomore Kaveon Schulte drained a trio of 3-pointers on his way to a team-high 18 points.

Junior Dylan Lenoir and senior Lavarious Green each chipped in nine points in the win.

“Our team did a good job of defending and rebounding,” Wright City coach Ken Brown said. “Those were the keys to our success.”

The Wildcats will return home at 7 p.m. on Friday to take on another conference foe in Silex (11-8) for the school’s courtwarming.

LIBERTY CHRISTIAN 86, MARANATHA BAPTIST 66 – It was quite the senior night for the Liberty Christian boys basketball team.

Senior post player Willy Mueller, once again, put up some eye-popping numbers with 33 points and 24 rebounds.

He wasn’t the only Eagle to find success, however, as junior guard Phoenix Obermann contributed 25 points and seven assists while senior forward Tommy Meyer added 23 points and six steals.

Liberty led a close game at the end of the first quarter by a 25-20 score, but the team expanded the lead throughout the night.

“It was a good win for us on our senior night,” Liberty coach Butch Clark said.

Liberty (18-5) will play at Winfield at 6 p.m. Thursday before beginning the Metro Christian Conference tournament at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday as the No. 2 overall seed against Providence Classical Christian in a first-round game at the Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis.

The Liberty Christian girls will open the tournament just before the boys as the No. 6 seed with a 2 p.m. tip against Victory Christian.

MARK TWAIN GIRLS 75, WRIGHT CITY 51 – A 30-point first quarter by the Tigers proved impossible to overcome as Wright City dropped a game on the road.

Wright City (4-13) did outscore its opponent by seven points over the last three quarters, but it wasn’t nearly enough to affect the outcome.

Senior guard Shiriah McRoberts led the Wildcats with 20 points while junior guard Ada Ferrell pitched in 12.

Junior post player Olivia Wilson had another big individual night, adding 10 points and 13 rebounds in the defeat.

Wright City will host Silex at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
