A 30-year-old Wright City man was killed when he was struck by a train Sunday night, July 26.
Eric O. Korte was pronounced dead at the scene by Warren County Coroner Glenn Craig at 11:20 a.m. The incident occurred about 296 feet west of Highway H.
Korte was unconscious while sitting next to the railroad tracks, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. A westbound Union Pacific engine struck his hand, causing Korte to sit up, where he was struck by a second train car.
