Two Wright City students win titles at competition

Two Wright City High School students earned state titles at Miss Missouri Outdoors.Junior Abigail Thomas, the 2016 Strassenbash queen, won the interview competition and was voted Miss Congeniality. She also was named the 2017 Miss Missouri Outdoors Teen for ages 16-17.Freshman Megan McCloud won Miss Missouri Outdoors Junior Teen for ages 13-15.Abigail and Megan will continue on to travel the state visiting various fairs and festivals to promote Missouri tourism.Jessica Stoneberger of Montgomery City was named 2017 Miss Missouri Outdoors and will continue on to represent Missouri Outdoors at the 2017 State Fair. She also will spend the year traveling the state visiting various fairs and festivals to promote Missouri tourism.“Besides agriculture, tourism is a large revenue stream for the state and Miss Missouri Outdoors is a great organization to promote it,” said Rep. Bryan Spencer, R-Wentzville. “Both Megan and Abigail are great candidates to promote our Missouri values and further our goal of bringing tourists to the state. We wish them all the best and congratulate them on their win.”Miss Missouri Outdoors’ mission is to help young ladies achieve personal growth by gaining self-confidence, public speaking skills and social skills and for everyone to get outdoors and enjoy and learn about Missouri’s great beauty and history.The Miss Missouri Outdoors pageant was held Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Holiday Inn of Maryland Heights.
