Persons interested in helping restore the older tombstones at the Wright City Cemetery are invited to two upcoming Saturday workdays, Sept. 26 and Oct. 3.Volunteers will work leveling some of the tombstones in the cemetery that are leaning and in danger of falling. Others will help clean some of the older stones covered with lichen. Volunteer Jerry Prouhet of Warrenton will guide the restoration work. Prouhet has been trained in tombstone restoration.Persons interested in helping should arrive at the cemetery any time after 8 a.m. The workdays will conclude at noon.Water to clean the stones will be provided, but volunteers are asked to bring a small plastic bucket and a soft bristle brush and/or a tile spade. Persons should bring their own drinking water.The workdays are sponsored by the Wright City Memorial Society.For more information, persons should contact the Wright City City Hall at 636-745-1025.
