A 34-year-old Washington woman and a 60-year-old Jonesburg woman were seriously injured in a car accident on the morning of Aug. 5 in Warren County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A previous version of this report incorrectly stated the Jonesburg woman was not wearing her seat belt in the accident. The Jonesburg woman was wearing her seat belt, the Washington woman was not during the accident. The Record regrets the error.
A 34-year-old Washington woman and a 60-year-old Jonesburg woman were seriously injured in a car accident on the morning of Aug. 5 in Warren County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A Marthasville teen, 17, was traveling north on Highway 47 south of Kleekamp Drive when the accident occurred. He slowed down to make a left onto a private drive and the Washington woman, who was driving behind him, failed to keep a lookout on the road, according to the patrol.
She swerved into the southbound lane to avoid the Marthasville teen, and struck the Jonesburg woman, who was traveling south, head-on.
Both women were transported to Mercy Hospital Washington via ambulance. The Washington woman was not wearing her seat belt in the accident, according to the patrol.
