Two candidates for Warren County coroner are incumbent Glenn Craig, Warrenton, and newcomer Jeff Edwan of Jonesburg.Following are their profiles and positions: CraigCraig, 48, the Republican nominee, is a paramedic and firefighter. He is a member of the Warrenton Elks, Masonic Lodge, Society of Medicolegal Death Investigators, International Association of Firefighters, Missouri Emergency Medical Association and Missouri Association of Firefighters.As coroner, Craig said he has lead office changes including securing private information, moving to a computerized system, recreating scenes where infants have died, improved organ and tissue donation services and has worked closely and cooperatively with law enforcement.If re-elected, “I intend to continue to improve the quality of the coroner’s office with training and education; continue developing the relationship with law enforcement and other first responders by providing training for them; continue to develop relationship with hospice programs and nursing homes to provide better care for loved ones; to continue to provide the voice for those who are no longer able to speak for themselves and help loved ones get the answers they need to help with their closure.”Craig is divorced. He has a son who graduated from Wright City High School and is serving in the Air Force.EdwanEdwan, 56, is running as an Independent candidate. He is a fire marshal and firefighter for the Ferguson Fire Department. He is a member of the Professional Fire and Fraud Investigators Association, the Metropolitan Fire Marshal Association, the Fire Marshal Association of Missouri, the International Code Council, and the National Fire Protection Association.“If elected, I will retire from the city of Ferguson Fire Department at the end of September 2017 with 30 years of service, to dedicate my time as full-time coroner of Warren County. As coroner, my priorities will be to:“Build positive relationships with all law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services; provide thorough death investigations; improve response time of death investigations so that grieving families can plan funeral services as soon as the law allows; work with elected officials, first responders, and school districts to address the heroin epidemic in our county by improving and promoting education; and review Warren County roadways and address any points of danger to motorists.” Edwan is single and does not have children.
