The accident occurred on northbound Highway 47 south of the Washington Airport according to the crash report.
Christopher Green, 46, of Wentzville, and Michael Brake, 53, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, were traveling north on Highway 47 when he was forced to slow down due to traffic. They were then struck from behind by a Marthasville juvenile, 16, who was distracted by the radio and did not see the traffic ahead, according to the crash report.
The impact caused Green and Brake's vehicle to travel off the right side of the roadway. The juvenile's vehicle was then engulfed in flames on the right shoulder.
Brake was seriously injured in the accident and Green received moderate injuries. Both were transported to Mercy Hospital Washington by the Washington Ambulance District. The juvenile did not report any injuries.
The juvenile's vehicle was totaled, and Green's vehicle received extensive damage. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by Patriot Towing.
