Two people sustained minor injuries in a collision Monday, Aug. 15, on Highway 47 between Dutzow and Marthasville.The Missouri Highway Patrol said three vehicles were damaged in the 5:50 p.m. crash south of Boone Monument Road. Elizabeth A. Carlson, 24, Union, was driving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am southbound when she lost control.The Carlson car crossed the centerline and collided with a northbound 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Kara M. Diener, 26, Marthasville. The Diener car then struck the right side of a northbound 2003 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck driven by Jeffrey R. Kuenzel, 49, Marthasville, who attempted to avoid the other vehicles, according to the preliminary patrol report.Diener and Carlson were transported by Marthasville EMS to Mercy Hospital Washington with minor injuries the patrol said. Both were wearing safety belts.Kuenzel, who was not wearing a seat belt, was not injured. Carlson was cited later for allegedly driving while intoxicated (drugs), according to an arrest report on the patrol’s website.MVA
