Two citywide cleanup programs are slated for next weekend in Wright City and Warrenton.The Wright City “Trash Bash” will be Saturday, April 22. Volunteers will gather at Diekroeger Park at 9 a.m. to canvass the city for litter.This is the third year the city will host a cleanup day, with the previous being in 2014 and 2015, City Clerk and Treasurer Karen Girondo said in an email.This is the first year with the Trash Bash name, which Girondo said is meant to draw attention to the event.State Rep. Bryan Spencer will provide lunch for volunteers, and the cleanup is expected to be done by noon.On the same day is the city of Warrenton’s annual spring cleanup trash collection. City residents will be able to bring and dispose of used tires, recyclable metals, electronics and appliances at the Warrenton City Hall parking lot between 7 a.m. and noon on Saturday, April 22.Proof of residency is required for the Warrenton cleanup. T-shirts will be given out to the first 50 vehicles participating, as well as a chance at other giveaways.No semi tires, tractor tires or tires on rims will be accepted in Warrenton, and there is a 10-tire maximum per address.A number of other substances and materials are also prohibited, including any type of chemical, glass, cardboard and paper.
