Two people have been charged with child endangerment related to alleged criminal activity last week at a home on Orchard Farm Circle, just outside Warrenton.
Courtney R. Rolfsmeyer, 28, was arrested around 3 p.m. Sept. 28 on charges of felony drug possession, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
The following day, James R. Rolfsmeyer, 55, was arrested at the same location and charged with unlawful use of a firearm and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
A Warren County sheriff’s deputy and state Division of Family Services staff walking through Courtney Rolfsmeyer’s residence on the 28700 block of Orchard Farm Circle Sept. 27 found a glass pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine, according to an arrest report. Various other items authorities identified as drug paraphernalia allegedly were located in Rolfsmeyer’s bedroom.
A 10-year-old child reportedly lives at the residence with Rolfsmeyer. It is a Class D felony to possess methamphetamine in a home where a child younger than 17 resides.
Sept. 29, the day after Rolfsmeyer was arrested, two people at her residence on Orchard Farm Circle were in a dispute that led to one firing a gunshot into the air.
James Rolfsmeyer, whose registered address is in Wentzville, arrived at the residence and met a male relative there. A witness told authorities that James began yelling at his relative to get on his knees, and then fired a shot into the air from a handgun.
A 2-year-old child reportedly was nearby at the time of the shot. Because of that, James Rolfsmeyer is being charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, in addition to unlawful use of a weapon.
Courtney Rolfsmeyer is being held at the Warren County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond and has an arraignment set for Oct. 11 at the Warren County Courthouse. James Rolfsmeyer is in jail on a $15,000 bond and also has an arraignment Oct. 11.
