Turning Point announces the opening of Curious Collections, the re-incarnation of its former resale shop.The shop opens Saturday, Aug. 1, and is located in the Warrenton Outlet Mall, Suite 21.Store hours are Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.The shop will stock a variety of carefully selected donations from the community including clothing and footwear, decorative items, small appliances and kitchenware, toys, costume jewelry and artwork.The storefront hopes to do great business by giving customers a chance to purchase fashion finds, upcycle goods and local artistry at reasonable prices. It will also be a publicly located resource for overcoming domestic and sexual violence through public awareness and education. The lives of women and children traumatized by violence can be reclaimed too.Curious Collections is staffed by volunteers. Any church group, retiree group, or individual interested in volunteering at the store is encouraged to stop by during store hours to inquire.Donations will be accepted during regular store hours. Acceptable donations are new or good, clean pre-owned clothing and household goods. No TVs, computer parts or large furniture except by pre-authorization by the management.All proceeds from Curious Collections support the mission of Turning Point. Last year, the shelter provided residential services to 230 women and children. The services provided by Turning Point are access to immediate safe shelter, connection to community resources, and guidance in developing safety plans.More information about Turning Point is online at turningpointdvs.com.Turning Point
