Authorities say a motorcycle rider was killed in a crash on Highway A east of Truxton just after noon on Monday.
James L. Durr, 66, of Truxton, was pronounced dead by EMS personnel at the scene, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol crash report.
Investigators said the 2006 Kawasaki 900 Durr was driving ran off the right side of Highway A at Zion Church Road, then struck a utility pole. It’s not known whether Durr was wearing a helmet when he crashed, according to the report. He was pronounced dead about 25 minutes after the crash occurred, and his body was taken to the Lincoln County Medical Examiner’s office, the highway patrol said.
