The City of Truesdale will host a “Meet the Candidates Night” Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. at the MaryLou Community Center, 821 Market St.
As of Monday, Oct. 12, candidates who had confirmed they would attend the event included both Missouri Senate District 26 candidates: Republican incumbent Ben Brown and Democratic challenger Victoria Wors.
Both Missouri House District 42 candidates, Republican incumbent Jeff Myers and Democratic challenger Amy Pritchard, additionally confirmed they would attend the Truesdale candidate forum.
Bethany Mann, running as a Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives District 3 race, and Fred Wellman, running as a Democrat in U.S. House District 2, will also attend the event, according to Truesdale Mayor Jerry Cannon.
Incumbent Republican members of Congress Ann Wagner, representing District 2, and Bob Onder, representing District 3, were invited to the forum, according to Cannon, but had not responded as of Oct. 12.
Each candidate will have five to 10 minutes to speak at the event, Cannon said, audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions, and candidates will have tables set up after they speak where people can meet them.
In addition to the candidates participating, information will be available at the event about Amendments 3, 6, 7, and 8 and Proposition A, which will appear on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.
“The public is welcome to attend, hear from participating candidates, gather information, and ask questions,” according to a news release for the candidate forum. “This event provides an opportunity for voters to learn more about the candidates and ballot measures before Election Day.”
