Truesdale aldermen approved a lower tax rate at its meeting last Wednesday.
The 2025 tax rate was set at .8890 cents per $100 of assessed value at the board’s meeting last Wednesday. No one spoke at the city’s public hearing.
Truesdale’s assessed valuation is $25.1 million in real estate and $15.9 million in personal property, totaling slightly over $41 million. In comparison, the assessed value in 2024 was $31.2 million ($20.4 million in real estate and $10.8 million in personal property).
The 2025 tax levy is expected to generate $364,871.79 in revenue.
In the city’s public notice, officials noted that any figures used to determine this year’s tax rate do not include any revenue from the assessment of new construction. Based on info provided to the city, new construction and improvements are estimated to have $6.6 million in valuation, resulting in an additional revenue of $58,929.16, or 17% increase.
Truesdale’s tax rate in 2024 was .9494 per $100 of assessed value. That figure brought in slightly over $297,000 in taxes for the city.
