Truesdale residents can pick up vouchers for reduced-price rabies shots for their pets throughout the months of May and June. The vouchers are being offered at Truesdale City Hall until June 30. They can be used to at Warrenton Veterinary Clinic on Highway M to receive rabies vaccinations for pets at half the normal price.Only Truesdale residents will receive the vouchers, said City Administrator MaryLou Rainwater. Rabies vaccinations are required for any dog or cat kept in the city.Once owners get their pets vaccinated, they should bring a certificate from the vet back to city hall to receive rabies tags for the animals, Rainwater said.Shots are normally $30 for a one-year vaccination and $63 for a three-year vaccination, she commented. The vouchers reduce the cost of vaccination to $15 and $31.50, respectively.“We just want to make sure all the animals have received their shots,” Rainwater said. The vouchers are replacing a rabies clinic program as the city’s method for encouraging the vaccinations. The vouchers can only by used for rabies vaccinations, not for distemper or other vaccinations.Truesdale City Hall
