Truesdale city officials will stand pat and support a proposal from Warrenton to annex a stretch of Veterans Memorial Parkway. All four aldermen, at the March 23 meeting, voted in support of sending Warrenton a letter stating they has no objection to the proposed annexation. Warrenton officials had requested the letter so that they could proceed with extending its boundary to the eastbound lane between Warrenton Tire and Muffler and The Car Store so that road repairs can be made.Only the westbound lane is currently within the Warrenton city limits.Truesdale Mayor Murray Bruer reminded the board the portion of the road in question has never been in the city limits.Last year, Truesdale declined a request from Warrenton to partner on the road improvement project by extending its northern boundary and sharing in the cost. A property survey concluded that half of the street was not located in either Warrenton or Truesdale. The projected cost to repair the portion of Veterans Memorial Parkway is $114,000, which includes grinding and an asphalt overlay.Under a 1965 agreement with MoDOT, Warrenton is responsible for maintenance of Veterans Memorial Parkway.Other news• Three separate ordinance related to professional engineering services were unanimously adopted by the board.
