The Truesdale Community Garden received a seasonal refresh Monday evening as local volunteers gathered to prepare the space for spring planting. Members of the Warren County Master Gardeners were joined by youth from Warren County 4-H Teen Leaders and Warren County 4-H Gardening Project to clean, restore, and ready the garden.
Led by Master Gardener Community Garden Coordinator Mary Fuller, volunteers ranging in age from 3 to 63 pitched in to pull weeds, refresh soil, spread mulch and transplant the first garden starts—laying the groundwork for a productive growing season.
The garden is a partnership between the City of Truesdale and the Master Gardeners, with support from the local 4-H program. Beyond growing fresh produce, the garden plays a larger role in the community—offering access to healthy food, hands-on learning opportunities, and a welcoming space for neighbors to connect. Gardening also provides mental and physical health benefits while encouraging environmentally sustainable practices.
Community members are invited to get involved this season, whether by planting, learning, or simply lending a hand. The Truesdale Community Garden continues to grow not just vegetables, but connections—making it a place where everyone is welcome to dig in and be part of something meaningful.
