Truesdale approves city's first neighborhood improvement district

Truesdale alderman approved the city’s first neighborhood improvement district during the Aug. 9 meeting.

The district encompasses the Elkhorn Ridge subdivision, which is currently under construction by T.R. Hughes and will feature 190 houses when complete.

There was little discussion among city officials regarding the adoption of the district. The issue had been postponed to the Aug. 9 meeting after a lengthy discussion between city officials and representatives from both T.R. Hughes.

That discussion “cleared up a lot of questions” the city had, Board President Mike Thomas said at the July meeting.

The ordinance passed the board by a vote of 4-0.
