Troy man charged with third-degree domestic assault in Warren County

Posted

In the afternoon of Feb. 5, Warrenton police officers were dispatched to a residence in Warrenton for a threatening suicide. Dispatchers advised the suspect had barricaded himself in a bathroom and informed dispatchers he planned to harm himself, according to the probable cause statement.

When officers arrived, they attempted to contact the suspect, Stephen Loddeke, 41, of Troy, through the door.

Officers then met with victim one who attested she had an argument with Loddeke the previous night and he became physical, according to the probable cause statement. She said he punched her in the temple, threw her to the ground and placed his hand over her mouth aggressively.

Loddeke and the victim were in a prior relationship and had been living together.

The victim also said at one point in the altercation she was bitten by Loddeke and stated "she was in fear for her life," according to the probable cause statement.

Officers returned to the residence at which point they were able to enter and took Loddeke into custody without incident. Loddeke has two prior convictions for domestic assault charges.

Loddeke was charged with third-degree domestic assault, a felony.

A warrant was issued for his arrest and he is being held without bond.
