A Lincoln County man accused of drug trafficking is in custody in the Franklin County Jail.Jason Freeman, 44, of Troy, was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 19, at a residence in Union, according to reports.He is charged in a felony complaint with felony trafficking in drugs. A $50,000 cash-only bond was ordered in the case. Freeman allegedly was in possession of approximately 90 grams of methamphetamine, the felony complaint alleges.On Wednesday, members of the Multi-County Narcotics and Violent Crimes Enforcement Unit served a search warrant at a residence on Moutier Street in Union based on information they developed in an investigation.During the search, officers found Freeman hiding, alone, in an unoccupied bedroom inside the residence, according to a probable cause statement filed in the case.The statement notes that Freeman “was found hiding after the residence had been initially cleared and no other subjects were inside the residence.”In the bedroom, officers found a backpack, hidden in a closet, that contained suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.Further tests confirmed that the substances were meth and marijuana, according to the statement.Crime
