The Wright City Trash Bash volunteer cleanup day has been pushed back to Saturday, May 6, due to a wet forecast on its original date of April 22.Volunteers should meet at Diekroeger Park at 9 a.m. to help pick up trash and litter along roadways throughout the city. Volunteers will be given gloves, safety vests and trash bags and then move in groups. Sturdy shoes are recommended.Lunch will be served later that morning back at the park. Participants also will receive a redbud tree seedling grown by the Missouri Department of Conservation in recognition of Earth Day.The event is sponsored by the city of Wright City, state Rep. Bryan Spencer, Scott’s Miracle Grow, Coca-Cola and the Missouri Department of Transportation.Also May 6 is a volunteer workday at the Wright City Cemetery. Volunteers will spend the morning starting at 9 a.m. cleaning tombstones and clearing moss and lichen that have grown over older gravesites.Volunteers are asked to bring a plastic bucket and a soft-bristle brush.For more information about either volunteer event, call Wright City Hall at 636-745-3101.Trash Bash
