Traffic incidents cause delays on westbound I-70 in Montgomery County

The Missouri Department of Transportation warned drivers Monday afternoon, Aug. 3, of delays on westbound Interstate 70 in Montgomery County.

At 1:22 p.m., MoDOT announced that westbound I-70 was reduced to one lane at mile marker 177.2 near New Florence due to a traffic incident, and drivers should use caution.

Then at 2:16 p.m., MoDOT issued another press release noting that westbound I-70 was  closed just before and after the Route Y Spur/Fleahman Road near Jonesburg due to a traffic incident and drivers should use alternate routes.

Duration of the delays was unknown when MoDOT issued its announcements. For updates please refer to the Traveler Information Map. MoDOT advises drivers to remember to obey all work zone signs and personnel. All work zones and traffic impacts are online at www.modot.org/northeast.
