The Knights of Columbus Journey for Charity Tractor Cruise collected $41,300 in donations and proceeds from this year’s event, exceeding last year’s total by $3,500, organizers reported last week.
The collection will allow $5,900 to be distributed to each of the seven local area food pantries that are supported by the tractor cruise, including the Southern Warren and St. Charles County Food Pantry in Marthasville.
Checks will be presented to the food pantries during an Oct. 11 evening ceremony at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Union.
The Journey For Charity Tractor Cruise is a collaborative effort between farmers and Knights of Columbus members in Franklin County and southern Warren County to provide for people in need by collecting food and monetary donation while parading tractors between different towns in the area. This year’s tractor cruise collected about 7,800 pounds of donated food.
