Three Lady Warriors were recently named to the GAC North softball first team.
Kiera Daniel, Kylie Witthaus and Makayla Witthaus were each named to the GAC North first team. Paige Campbell, Audrey Lanzone, Adee Morgan and Grace Steinhoff were named to the GAC North second team.
Kiera Daniel was named to the GAC North first team as an infielder. Daniel was the Lady Warriors’ leadoff hitter this season and finished the season with a .465 batting average. She led Warrenton with 34 runs scored and 43 hits.
Makayla Witthaus was named to the first team as an outfielder. She finished the season with a .377 batting average. She had seven extra base hits and 18 RBIs. She scored 22 runs.
Kylie Witthaus was named to the first team as a pitcher. She finished the season with a 16-9 record and a 1.40 Earned Run Average. She struck out 270 batters. Witthaus hit .447 at the plate this season with one home run and a team-leading 27 RBIs.
Campbell, Lanzone and Morgan were named to the GAC North second team as infielders. Campbell finished the season with a .243 average. She led Warrenton with two triples. Lanzone hit .368 on the season. She finished third among all Lady Warriors with 32 hits on the season. She had 17 RBIs. Morgan hit .273 on the season. She logged 21 hits and eight RBs.
Steinhoff was named to the second team as an outfielder. She hit .381 on the season. She had seven RBIs and scored nine runs on the season.
Steinhoff received the sportsmanship award for Warrenton.
Paige Campbell, Kiera Daniel, Sam Eskew, Maddisyn Hoelscher, Morgan Marschel, Briana Menne, Grace Sitton, Grace Steinhoff, Kylie Witthaus and Makayla Witthaus were named to the conference’s all-academic team.
Warrenton finished the season with an 18-10-1 record. They went 8-2 in GAC North games and placed second in the conference.
Warrenton advanced to the district championship game for the third consecutive year. They beat Marshall and Jefferson City before falling to Helias Catholic in the district finals.
