Three people from Washington were injured over the weekend while driving a utility vehicle on a sandbar of the Missouri River.The three were riding in the vehicle, a 2018 Can-Am Defender, south of Pinckney Bottom Road around 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28, according to a preliminary report from the Missouri Highway Patrol. They were injured when the driver attempted to execute a right turn and rolled the vehicle on its side.One passenger in the vehicle, Shawn D. Mayall, 44, had serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.The driver, Kurt G. Poepsel, 53, and another passenger, Jessica L. Graves, 30, both had moderate injuries. They were taken to Mercy Hospital Washington by a private vehicle.None of the three people injured were secured with a seat belt, according to the highway patrol.Crash
