Warren County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Troy man for threatening a witness in a sexual assault investigation.Christopher M. Stephens, 26, was accused of sexual assault in December when the alleged female victim contacted the sheriff’s department, according to an arrest report. In early February, the woman spoke to Stephens in a phone call recorded by law enforcement. Stephens reportedly stated that he is a member of a gang and allegedly threatened that he would “have her house shot up” if he was convicted of a crime, according to the report.Later that month, the woman told law enforcement that Stephens had contacted her via Facebook to tell her that he had spun his car tires in her driveway. She reported that someone did a “burn out” in the area of her home about the same time.Stephens then reportedly told the woman to meet him at the Warrenton Wal-Mart. She contacted law enforcement, who later arrested Stephens after he had left the area of the store. At the time of the arrest, an air pistol was located in Stephens’ vehicle that reportedly was indistinguishable from an actual firearm.Stephens is being held at the Warren County Jail on a $5,000 bond. He has an arraignment scheduled for March 15 at the Warren County Circuit Court.
