President Donald Trump was a highly successful dealmaker in the business world. Some people say part of his success was due to his bullying.By now his record in dealmaking in government rates a D at best and at worst an F.He is finding out that he can’t make deals in government like he did in business. They are different worlds with different players. His bullying doesn’t work in government like it did in business.Even on the local government level, you can’t make deals and operate like you can in the business world. The nature of the beast in government is such that what is possible in business isn’t possible in government. So many officials who came from the business world have found out that life is entirely different in government. You can’t run government like you run a business. There are too many obstacles in government. Politics prevents many would-be deals.Overall, the structure of government and its size are such that it isn’t flexible. There are too many rules in government that it doesn’t bend easily, and it can take years to make changes and taxpayer dollars are involved.President Trump will be another official who will end up saying, “I tried but you can’t run government like a business.”
