Warrenton's Teson places first at Liberty Invitational

Warrenton freshman Zayden Teson won all four of his matches to win his weight class at the Liberty Invitational. 

Teson was one of three Warrenton wrestlers to advance to the championship match of their weight class. Jeremiah Kassing and Noah Lohrmann placed second in their weight class. 

Teson earned 24 team points by winning the 106-pound weight class. Teson won all four of his matches by fall. He beat Bryon Dubes of Centralia in the championship match. 

Lohrmann won his first four matches before dropping the first place match to place second in the 138-pound weight class. 

Lohrmann earned a pair of wins in his opening round matches. In the quarterfinals, he beat Lucas Bova of Troy by fall. Lohrmann beat D’Monte Bagby of St. Charles on a 20-5 technical fall. Lohrmann dropped a 16-5 major decision to Noah Keen of Francis Howell Central in the championship match. 

Jeremiah Kassing won his first three matches and placed second in the 126-pound weight class. After winning his two opening round matches, Kassing beat Jacob Bliven of Battle on an 11-1 major decision. He fell to Justin Schutter of Kirksville in the championship match. 

Joshua Kassing and Lucas Burroughs both won two matches and placed fourth in their respective weight classes. 

Vacek, Ruff, earn top-three finish 

Two Warrenton wrestlers registered top-three finishes at the Liberty Invitational. 

Sophomore Allison Vacek placed second to lead all Lady Warrior wrestlers. Vacek won four matches and earned 21 of Warrenton’s 50 team points during the tournament. Vacek earned all three wins in the opening rounds by fall. She beat Molly Marischen of Troy Buchanan on a 13-1 major decision in the semifinals. Vacek fell to Jayci Shelton of Centralia in the 155-pound championship match. Freshman Alexis Ruff also won four matches and placed third in the 115-pound weight class. She earned 15 team points. Ruff won all three of her opening round matches to advance to the championship bracket. After falling to Camrin Watkins of Francis Howell Central in the semifinals, Ruff beat Karli Mayfield of Festus by fall in 4:42 in the third place match. 

Dakota Lohrmann won four matches to place fifth in the 120-pound weight class. Lohrmann won both of her opening round matches by fall. After dropping her match against Maddy Summers of Ladue, Lohrmann beat Lucy Ballard of Ft. Zumwalt East and Malika Sturm of Hannibal by fall to place fifth in the weight class. She earned 14 team points for the Lady Warriors.
