This is my seventh year as a member of the Camp Branch 4-H club. I am an active member of the Warren County Teen Leaders, and it has been one of my best decisions in 4-H.
In Teen Leaders, we meet on the second Tuesday of the month. At each meeting, we plan fun events for the 4-H clubs in our county. Some of our major events we have planned have been the 4-H Social and Countywide Kickball.
We do more than plan events. An amazing opportunity we had this past year was an exchange trip. A group of us hopped on a plane to North Carolina to see how their 4-H works and different places that make North Carolina special.
This summer, we were supposed to host the same group of 4-H’ers from North Carolina that hosted us, to show them what makes Missouri special. Since the world is all out of sorts at the moment, we hope to do that soon.
Teen Leaders is an amazing program for older teens. We plan community service projects and fun events, like the 4-H Social and Thank You Baskets for our first responders. We have amazing opportunities through Teen Leaders like being able to help younger children, and seeing what makes different places special. All of this is through Teen Leaders. It’s an amazing opportunity for 4-H, and I hope that the more people that know about Teen Leaders and what it is we do, the more people will have these great opportunities that we are blessed with.
